Joan recalls…
“I was not yet in high school when my Uncle Harold; at the age of 50, had a major stroke which paralyzed his left side.
He spent the next 27 years, day after day, being moved from his bed in the morning to an overstuffed chair in the living room and back to his bed in the evening.
He missed both son’s weddings, the birth of his 5 grandchildren, all the family celebrations and gatherings. His teeth rotted and fell out because he had no way to get to the dentist. He was stuck in that chair immobile day after day.
When my aunt became too frail to care for him, he was placed in a nursing home and died eight months before my aunt.
No one needs to live like that.Today, unlike in 1967, there are solutions that restore mobility, bring back respect, and help the individual, as well as those they love, enjoy life to the fullest.
I couldn’t help Uncle Harold,
but we can help you!”-Joan Lincer
